For those willing to replace their old dysfunctional motor with a new one, a 20 minute task can result in new life for the Popper coffee roaster
Here’s a quick update that the motors are here, and we can prepare to send them soon once we have assembled the small kit and made a step by step repair video.
Swapping the motor out is pretty simple, a 15-20 minute task. But doing it with some care can have a much better result than rushing through it. So we will get a good video together to guide through the process to get the best results!

The kits are low cost and available at Sweet Marias.

Hi,
My roaster has became erratic in the past few months, something burning or under roasting the beans. My last roast was pretty scary… the nob was at 12:30, and within 4 minutes began smoking madly. The beans were black and sizzling hot when I intervened and shut the machine off. I was worried about a fire. I think the motor is maybe not functioning properly any more. I have had the machine for exactly a year. What should I do?
Hi – Yes sounds like a replacement motor would be the fix. Sweetmarias has the motor kit and it’s a pretty easy fix and costs $5
